About me

Perry Engelbracht

Perry Engelbracht

Senior .NET Developer · C# Developer · Technical Lead

I'm a senior .NET developer with most of my professional experience in C# and web application development. In my current work I build secure web applications, backend systems, authentication and authorization flows, CI/CD pipelines, test environments, deployment setups, and project documentation.

A lot of my work is about taking responsibility for the systems I build. I care about how the software is structured, how it is tested, how it is deployed, and how other developers can understand and continue working on it later.

My professional background is mainly in financial software, secure web applications, system architecture, integrations, Scrum teams, and technical ownership. I have also worked in roles where I supported other developers through code reviews, mentoring, technical direction, and project planning.

Outside of my main work, I like building my own projects. These projects are often more experimental and creative. I have worked on Unity assets, VR training simulators, physics simulation, hardware controllers, 3D workflows, developer tools, and live web applications. Not all of these skills are needed every day in a business environment, but they give me a broad technical view and help me solve problems in practical ways.

Outside of software, I try to enjoy life and make time for the people around me. I like going for walks, spending weekends away with my girlfriend, visiting friends, and making time for family. When there is some time left in the day, I also enjoy working with my hands. That can be building something, fixing things around the house, doing small maintenance jobs, or working on practical projects away from the screen.

For me, work is important, but having a good life outside of work matters just as much. I care about growing as a developer, building useful things, and keeping enough balance to enjoy life with the people I love.

Work experience

Senior Software Developer Quantix Netherlands May 2025 – Present
.NET C# System architecture Authentication & authorization CI/CD GitHub Actions Testing infrastructure Deployment Documentation Server management Product feasibility
More details

At Quantix, I work as a senior software developer focused on building practical, secure, and maintainable web applications and backend systems. My work is mainly centered around .NET development, system architecture, authentication and authorization, CI/CD, testing infrastructure, deployment environments, documentation, and server-side application reliability.

  • Design and build web application features with a strong focus on ownership, maintainability, and long-term stability. For the systems I develop, I am directly responsible for the technical implementation, setup, deployment, documentation, and reliability of the solution.
  • Design and implement authentication and authorization systems for web applications, including complex permission structures and role-based access models.
  • Build and maintain GitHub CI/CD pipelines, automated build and deployment flows, unit test environments, integration test environments, and application stress test setups.
  • Handle server management, deployment environments, application configuration, debugging, performance testing, and the infrastructure needed to run and validate software properly.
  • Create and maintain project documentation — technical setup guides, system documentation, deployment instructions, and onboarding documents for new developers joining the project.
  • Evaluate new products and development initiatives: technical feasibility, development effort, risks, architecture, maintainability, business value, and long-term impact before work begins.
  • Take full technical ownership of the systems I build end to end — architecture, security, testing, documentation, deployment, maintainability, and operational reliability — while not acting as a formal team lead in this role.
Lead R&D Engineer · Scrum Master · Team Lead Speedbooks Heerenveen, Netherlands May 2024 – Nov 2024
.NET C# R&D Scrum Team leadership Code reviews Technical architecture Prototyping Stakeholder communication
More details

At Speedbooks, I held a combined role across research and development, Scrum facilitation, team leadership, and hands-on software engineering. Speedbooks develops reporting software for accountants and financial professionals, where reliability, usability, clear data handling, and maintainable software are important.

  • Lead R&D Engineer: explored new technical possibilities and helped validate ideas before they became full development projects — researching approaches, building prototypes, testing feasibility, and thinking through impact on architecture, maintainability, performance, and product value.
  • Scrum Master: facilitated daily stand-ups, sprint planning, sprint reviews, and retrospectives. Helped keep the team aligned, removed blockers where possible, and supported a clear development flow between developers, product stakeholders, and project management.
  • Team Lead / Senior Software Developer: supported the development team with technical direction, code reviews, mentoring, implementation choices, and software quality. Helped translate product and business needs into practical technical solutions and supported delivery of reliable, maintainable features.
  • Combined technical ownership with team support, stakeholder communication, product thinking, and delivery-focused software development.
Software Developer Figlo Capelle aan den IJssel, Netherlands Aug 2022 – Jul 2023
C# .NET AngularJS JavaScript REST APIs Git Scrum Financial software
More details

At Figlo, I worked on financial planning software used by financial advisors, accountants, banks, and insurers. The platform helps professionals give customers insight into their current and future financial situation, which made reliability, accuracy, and maintainability important parts of the development process.

  • Contributed to both front-end and back-end development using C#, .NET, AngularJS, JavaScript, REST APIs, Git, and Scrum.
  • Built and maintained web application features, implemented API functionality, debugged issues, improved performance, and supported integrations with other systems.
  • Worked in a financial software environment that strengthened my experience with structured development, domain complexity, and stakeholder communication.
  • Further developed as a professional software developer in a team where code quality, communication, testing, and maintainability were important to product success.
Lead Software Development Engineer Mount Visual AS Bergen, Norway Aug 2019 – Jul 2020
C# .NET Framework 4.8 Unity3D VR Touch interfaces C Bluetooth Team leadership Hardware integration
More details

At Mount Visual, I worked on interactive software projects in a media and simulation-focused environment. The work combined C#, .NET Framework, Unity3D, VR, touch interfaces, Bluetooth communication, hardware integration, and close collaboration with designers and clients.

  • Led a small development team on an interactive touchscreen project, coordinating technical work and aligning software with design requirements, user experience, and client expectations.
  • Developed touchscreen functionality using C# and .NET Framework 4.8, integrating sensor behavior using C, and creating interactive systems that connected software with physical input devices.
  • Designed and built a custom Bluetooth VR game controller for training scenarios and developed Unity3D physics behavior for more realistic, immersive training experiences.
  • Combined software development, technical leadership, hardware integration, simulation, documentation, debugging, and client-focused delivery.
Software Developer Survival Systems International Norfolk, United Kingdom Sep 2017 – Jan 2018
Unity3D C# .NET Framework 4.8 Real-time simulation Physics Maritime engineering
More details

At Survival Systems International, I developed simulation software for lifeboat and rescue boat systems. The goal was to support engineering and design work by simulating boat behavior under different environmental and technical conditions.

  • Built software in Unity3D using C# and .NET Framework 4.8 that loads digital boat models and simulates behavior in realistic water and weather conditions.
  • Measured stability, roll behavior, flooding effects, and other factors relevant to lifeboat and rescue boat validation.
  • Combined software development, physics simulation, real-time visualization, mathematical thinking, and communication with technical domain experts.
  • Simulation results were used to support calculations and guide improvements to boat models — strengthening my ability to translate real-world physical behavior into practical software tools.
Software Developer · Project Lead Independent Project Mar 2017 – Sep 2017
Unity3D C# Game design UX for children Education Project ownership
More details

As an independent project lead, I worked on an educational game for children aged 6 to 10. The project combined social skills learning with an introduction to basic physics concepts in a playful and accessible way.

  • Owned both development and project direction. Using Unity3D and C#, built child-friendly gameplay systems, interfaces, and interactive learning mechanics that supported the educational goals.
  • Designed the user experience, implemented game logic, tested ideas, processed feedback, and improved the project through iteration.
  • Thought about usability, learning value, and how young users would interact with the software — not just the technical implementation.
  • Grew in project ownership, communication, game design, user experience, and translating abstract learning goals into practical interactive software.
